Information the Platform Collects
The platform collects the following categories of information:
- Account information. When you sign in, the platform stores your name and email address. Sign-in is managed by the platform's hosting service.
- Profile information you choose to provide. Your VedaX profile can include your education stage, subject marks, skills, interests, target career, extracurricular activities and certifications, as well as personal details such as your full name, phone number, date of birth, gender, location, bio, profile photo, links to external profiles (such as GitHub or LinkedIn) and an uploaded resume. Providing this information is optional; it is used to personalise guidance on the platform.
- Assessment responses. If you take psychometric, aptitude, personality or interest tests, your answers and the results derived from them (such as persona labels and career matches) are saved to your account so you can revisit them.
- Practice data. When you attempt previous-year exam questions, the platform records your answers, whether they were correct and the time spent, to track your practice history and performance.
- Community content. Forum posts, replies and votes you create are stored and displayed in the community. You can choose to post anonymously, in which case your display name is not shown to other users.
- Content you submit through forms. Information you submit through forms such as the contact form (name, email, reason and message) is stored so we can review and respond.
- Usage information. The platform records analytics events, such as which pages are visited and which features are used, to understand how the platform is used. These events are recorded without your assessment answers or profile details.
How Information Is Used
Information collected on the platform is used to:
- Operate the platform and provide its features.
- Personalise results, recommendations and guidance based on the information you provide.
- Maintain your saved profiles, assessment results, practice history and community content.
- Review feedback, corrections and support requests you send us.
- Understand how the platform is used and improve it.
AI Services
Parts of the platform use AI model services to generate insights, search results, chat responses and personalised recommendations. When you use these features, the relevant inputs — such as your search query, profile information or assessment answers — are sent to those services through the platform's hosting provider so a response can be generated. AI-generated content can be incomplete or inaccurate, and should not be treated as professional advice.
Cookies and Local Storage
The platform uses your browser's local storage to keep things working between visits. This includes your cookie-consent choice, your journey progress, and selections such as shortlisted colleges, comparisons and a locally cached summary of your assessment profile. You can clear this data at any time from your browser settings.
Where Information Is Stored and Who Processes It
VedaX does not sell your personal information. The platform's hosting, sign-in and database are provided by the Base44 platform, which stores and processes platform data on VedaX India's behalf. AI model providers process the prompts described above when you use AI-powered features. Information you post publicly — such as non-anonymous forum content — is visible to other platform users.
Your Choices
- Most profile information is optional. You can review, update or remove it from your profile at any time.
- You can choose to take assessments and submit information, or not.
- To request correction or removal of your stored information, contact us at info@vedax.net.
